**Registration is closed for the City University program beginning in September 2016. Look for City University again in 2017.
The City of Port St. Lucie launched a new program called "City University," in January. This citizen’s academy is a free, six-week program designed to help residents learn about their city government.
Participants will learn about a wide variety of topics like; how decisions are made, how city funds are allocated and how departments operate. Plus, you’ll discover the current status and future plans for Port St. Lucie’s development and proposed projects. You’ll participate in lively discussions, role-playing and other fun interactive activities. You’ll tour city facilities and overall become a more informed and involved citizen.
City University is offered two times a year and is free for anyone living or working in Port St. Lucie. This program has been developed for adults, however, high school juniors and seniors may apply and include a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
Six sessions will be held on consecutive Wednesday evenings beginning Sept. 7th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be a graduation when sessions are complete.
Class size is limited and spaces are expected to fill up quickly.
The application period is now closed. In 2017, you may apply and email your application to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also drop off your completed application at City Hall or mail it to:
