The City of Port St. Lucie requires that all applications for posted job openings be submitted electronically using our online application form. For your convenience, computer kiosks are located in the lobby of City Hall and the Community Center for use by applicants who do not have access to a computer.
The Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for a limited number of positions. Because we are committed to a drug free work place, all candidates will be required to submit to a drug screening, as well as a physical examination, criminal and other background investigations. Once submitted, all applications/resumes are deemed public record pursuant to Florida statutes.

I want to be a water plant operator. Can I apply even though the position is not posted?
We accept applications only for positions that are posted. View all positions that are currently open with the City of Port St. Lucie.
Can I submit a resume?
You may electronically attach a resume to an application before submitting it.
What is the status of my application?
The process used after receipt of the application for a posted position is all information is entered into the system and then it is forwarded to the department doing the hiring.
Will I be contacted whether my application was selected for the position or not?
If your application is selected as a possible candidate for the posted position, you will be notified by phone to set up an interview. If your application was not selected as a possible candidate, you will not be contacted.
Will I be notified after interviewing if I was not selected for the position?
If you had interviewed for a posted position but are not selected, you will be notified by mail once the selected candidate starts.
Do I need to fill out an application for each position I am interested in?
Human Resources requires that you submit one application per posted position.
If I contact the Human Resources would they be able to tell me what positions are available?
Check the city’s Web site for the available positions or come to City Hall (Building A) and check the job posting board.
If I contact Human Resources would they be able to tell me if the posted positions I applied for have been filled?
The quickest way to see if a position has been filled is to check the job postings page. Once a position has been filled, it is removed from the job postings page. If you do not have access to the Internet, you can check the job posting board at City Hall. Please remember that the selection process can take anywhere from two weeks to a few months. If you are a selected candidate for a posted position, you will hear from the city. If you are not a selected candidate for a posted position, you will not hear from the city, unless you interviewed for the position.
