Road Closures for July 4th Independence Day Celebration
On Friday, July 4, the City of Port St. Lucie will close Veterans’ Memorial Parkway for the annual FreedomFest Parade. Drivers are asked to note the time and locations of the road closures and to contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 878-2277 with any questions. The parade starts at 10 a.m.
Parade route closures
7 a.m. – until the parade concludes;
Lyngate Drive, from the park to Veteran’s Memorial Parkway – CLOSED. Only vehicles with official passes will be allowed into Lyngate Park.
8:30 a.m. - until the parade concludes;
Veteran’s Memorial Parkway - CLOSED from median cut at Sea Fury Lane, north of Post Office to Walden Woods / Hideaway Circle median cut.
10 a.m.– Parade start time until parade conclusion; (approximately 90 min. duration)
Veteran’s Memorial Parkway – CLOSED from Sea Fury Lane to Lyngate Drive.
P.M. fireworks closures
8 p.m. until fireworks conclude:
Veteran’s Memorial Parkway – CLOSED from Lyngate Drive to north side of median cut at Rivergate Park.
Special notes
- After 8 p.m. closing of Midport Road, public may access streets east of Veteran’s Memorial Parkway via Shelter Drive off Port St. Lucie Boulevard.
- Southbound lanes of Veteran’s Memorial Parkway will be used for emergency, patrol and city vehicles only.
- Entry to VIP area will be permitted only with VIP passes.
- No pedestrians will be permitted on roadway or median from Triumph Road to the rear entrance of Lyngate Park during the fireworks.
- No personal fireworks will be permitted in Lyngate Park or along the parade / fireworks route. The Port St. Lucie police department will confiscate any personal fire works.
