Description: Reconstruction of approximately 0.7 miles of 4-lane roadway. The existing project includes adding an additional northbound left-turn lane at Gatlin, additional southbound left turn lane at Darwin, conversion of the open swale drainage system to a closed underground system with curb and gutter, and construction of multi-use paths, landscaped medians, irrigation, signalized intersections, roadway lighting, and relocation of water and sewer lines.
Design for the project is complete. Construction started in December 2021 and is estimated to be complete Winter 2023 per FDOT's currently approved schedule. The City has budgeted $8,000,000 for construction, which includes $4,600,000 from a Transportation Regional Incentive Program (TRIP) Grant.
Motorists are asked to use caution in the construction zone. Lane closures and delays are anticipated.

Lane Closures
- Southbound traffic shifted east on PSL Boulevard between SW Gatlin Boulevard and SW Alexandra Avenue
- SW Cairo Avenue and SW Castaneda Lane will be closed at PSL Boulevard
- Closure of existing median openings at SW Yale Street and SW Cairo Avenue
- Starting north of SW Aurelia Avenue, one northbound through lane is eliminated leaving one through lane and one dedicated left turn onto westbound Gatlin Boulevard
- The speed limit in the construction zone has been reduced to 30 mph
- Nighttime closures on Port St. Lucie Boulevard from Darwin Boulevard to Gatlin Boulevard from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for watermain work
