Mission Statement

The City of Port St. Lucie Information Technology (IT) Department is committed to providing quality information technology, secure network environment, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services, and software development to help and support city departments in achieving their goals and serving the community.

IT Support Services Division

The Systems Support Section designs, installs, and manages centralized computer servers, data storage, backup services, and related systems that host application services for our internal and external customers.

The Service Desk Section provides help desk services for the City’s internal customers. This team also supports the purchase of IT-related products and services, customer training, asset management, and installation and repair of desktop and notebook computers, printers, multi-function copiers, and audio-visual services.

Infrastructure Division

The Fiber System Management Section is responsible for the ongoing design and inventory/mapping of the fiber optic cable system throughout the City.

The Network Services Section supports all wired and wireless networks, including public Wi-Fi services for the community as well as the City-wide fiber-optic backbone that connects facilities to the City network.

The Telecommunications Management Section is primarily responsible for the telephone hardware used throughout the City.

Application Development Division

The Programming Section is responsible for the development of custom applications to streamline City processes. The team has applications in production in every department of the City including the Online Services Portal.

The Enterprise Geographic Information Systems Section is responsible for providing City staff, the public, and clients with quality enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services, solutions and customer service.

The Data Section is responsible for all city databases and data visualizations.

Operations Division

The Purchasing Section is responsible for the acquisition of technology peripherals and software for the entire City.

The Administration Section is responsible for the support of all divisions within the department. This section provides inventory control, clerical support, correspondence assistance, meeting coordination, and project assistance.

The Security Section is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of a City-wide physical and logical information security program that will help ensure the protection of the City’s information assets, systems, and networks.
