About OMB

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) oversees the city's total budget function. The department assists the Management Team and City Council in the budgetary process, starting with developing the annual budget and adopting state TRIM requirements.

Financial data and staffing levels are monitored and reported monthly and used to update long-range models. Additional financial modeling and planning are conducted to assist with union negotiations and benchmarking studies.

The mission of the Office of Management and Budget is to provide exceptional services in a manner that is financially responsible, transparent, and ensures integrity that benefits the City of Port St Lucie and its communities.

We do this by:

Developing and administering the City's operating and capital budgets; and forecasting accurate, impartial, and comprehensive information to maintain financial stability that increases operational efficiency and effectiveness. Acquiring goods and services that will maximize the purchasing value of public funds to ensure fair and open competition that best serves the public interest. Meeting the City's Charter, ordinances, and policies; state statues; and best practices.
