Sports Classes

Preschoolers (Ages 0-5)

Learn 2 Sports

  • September – May, Thursdays, 6-6:45 p.m. at Minsky Gymnasium
  • Ages 3-5
  • Teaches fundamentals of baseball, soccer, basketball, and football. Equipment provided.

Tot Drop

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center
  • Ages 2-4
  • Toddler Drop Off is a part-time, educational classroom program for preschoolers at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center.  This class features a safe, structured environment with plenty of activities to engage young, growing minds.

Youth, Teens & Adults (Ages 6 and older)

3D Printing Club

  • September – May, Thursdays, 6-7 p.m. at the PSL Community Center
  • Ages 8-16
  • Dive into the world of 3D printing! Unleash creativity, learn new skills, and work on group projects in a fun, collaborative environment. Beginners welcome to learn 3D basics from club leaders.

Great Kids After-School Program

  • Mondays-Thursdays, 2-4:30 p.m. at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center
  • Mondays-Fridays, 2-4:30 pm. at Minsky Gym
  • Ages 11-17
  • A free, after-school program for middle and high school students to play basketball. Teens are expected to sign in with recreation staff. Teens will be supervised during program hours.

Homeschool PE & Recreation

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at MIDFLORIDA Event Center
  • Ages: 5-17
  • Cost: $11
  • Home-schoolers, are you looking to get out and socialize with some athletic and art programs? Join us for a variety of games like basketball, soccer, relay races and partake in some arts and crafts in a fun and healthy environment. Develop leadership skills, build self-confidence and self-esteem as part of your academic curriculum in our afternoon program.

  • Mondays & Wednesdays, Karate Beginners White & Yellow Belt, 5:30-7 p.m.

Line Dance

  • Wednesdays, Beginners 12:30-1:30 p.m. or Improvers 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the PSL Community Center
  • Thursdays, Beginners 5-6 p.m. or Improvers 6-7 p.m. at the PSL Community Center
  • Ages 9 & older
  • Learn line dancing to all music genres. Line dancing is good for your mind, body, and soul and has many positive health benefits.

M&M Sweeties Baton Twirling 

  • Event Center (Activity #582915): Classes on Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m.
  • Minsky Gym (Activity #900060): Classes on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Ages: 4 and older
  • Cost: $40 per month. Only monthly registrations are taken online for classes held at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center. Daily registrations are taken on-site.
  • M&M Sweeties offers an exciting and easy-to-learn beginner's baton twirling program. It provides children with opportunities to march in parades, learn twirling techniques, model, win awards, and most importantly, develop self-confidence, coordination, and sportsmanship.

Zumba

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6-7 p.m. at Community Center
  • Ages 12 & older
  • Zumba is a fitness dance exercise program that motivates everyone by creating a party-like atmosphere.  Zumba will take you through dance steps such as merengue, reggaeton, and salsa while incorporating fitness exercises such as bicep curls, knee lifts, and squats.  Zumba Fitness is mostly about dance moves that make everyone laugh, smile, and let loose.

Special Populations Dance

  • Cost: $5 per person, caregivers are free
  • Time: 6-8 p.m.

Special population participants ages 15 and older, families, and friends are invited to join us for an evening of fun! Drinks & snacks will be served. Register in advance, as this is a popular dance!

Special Populations Music & Motion

  • September – May, Thursdays, 7:15-8 p.m. at Minsky Gym
  • Ages 6 and older
  • The "Music and Motion “program is a specially designed recreational program that caters to individuals with special needs, offering them a safe and inclusive environment to enjoy music and movement. We can dance, skip, or just plain move to the groove. This program recognizes the importance of providing individuals of all abilities with opportunities for social interaction, physical activity, and creative expression. This program is led by Recreation Instructor Shelly Fortier.

Coed Softball

  • Friday evenings at Sandhill Crane Park & Lyngate Park
  • Leagues for all skill levels. Ages 18 & older.

Adult Softball

  • Monday & Wednesday evenings at Sandhill Crane Park
  • Leagues for all skill levels. Ages 18 & older.

Pickleball

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center
  • Combines rules of tennis and badminton. Free for members, $3 for nonmembers.
  • Children ages 10-15 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

Seniors (Ages 55 and older)

Bridge & Mah Jongg

  • Fridays, 1-4 p.m. at the PSL Community Center
  • Cost: $1.40 per person
  • Interested in playing Bridge or Mahjongg? Join us for a non-instructional session. Invite three friends and enjoy a game every Friday. Players of all skill levels are welcome.

Senior Dance 2025 schedule

  • March 15, May 24, July 12, Sept. 6, and Nov. 1, from 6-8 p.m. at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center
  • Cost: $5 per person
  • Dress your best and enjoy a lovely time at MIDFLORIDA Event Center. This evening will feature a couples best-dressed contest, lively music, refreshments, and lots of dancing!

Senior Social

  • Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12-4 p.m. at the PSL Community Center
  • Enjoy billiards, meet new friends, and socialize with old ones. Ages 55 & older.

Parkinson's program

Rock Steady Boxing

  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Class times vary by individual assessment results.
  • $50 per month or $10 per class.
  • An exercise program for individuals with Parkinson's disease. Call 772-204-7131 to make an appointment for a free assessment. An assessment is required before signing up for this program.
