Commemorate 9/11 at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center remembrance ceremony

What: The City of Port St. Lucie invites the public to gather at the Memorial Fountain of the MIDFLORIDA Event Center to reflect on the events of Sept. 11, 2001, and to remember and honor those who lost their lives.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, 8:30 a.m.

Where: MIDFLORIDA Event Center, 9221 Event Center Place, Port St. Lucie 34952, Memorial Fountain

Why: The 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony offers an opportunity to unite as we remember the past and embrace the future together. The remembrance ceremony will include Port St. Lucie Police Chief Richard Del Toro, St. Lucie Fire County Fire District Lt. Jason Kershanick, and Retired NYPD 1st Grade Detective Rafael Diaz. Port St. Lucie Mayor Shannon Martin will be the master of ceremonies, and Port St. Lucie Police Department Chaplain Nick Manzie will give the invocation. Assisting in the ceremonies will be the St. Lucie County Fire District, Port St. Lucie Police Department, and St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

After the ceremony, we invite our guests to join us inside the Event Center for light refreshments.
