Port St. Lucie's Spooktacular House Decorating Contest

Calling all decorating goblins and creative ghouls: the City of Port St. Lucie wants to see the most boo-ti-ful and frightening outdoor decorations for the City’s 2nd annual Spooktacular House Decorating Contest.
This year, there are four categories to compete in. In response to residents' suggestions, a new category called Haunting Light Show has been added for those with decorations such as drones, pixels, projection screens, matrices and moving heads.
Whether residents create a full-blown haunted house, a spooktacular yard display or kid-friendly decorations, the City encourages residents to get into the Halloween spirit.
How to enter: Submissions for the Spooktacular House Decorating Contest begin Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 9 a.m. and end Tuesday, Oct. 29 at midnight. To earn bragging rights for the best Halloween-themed designs, PSL residents must visit www.CityofPSL.com/SpookyPSL and click on the “How to enter!” button to complete the entry form. Decorations should be kept to a PG-13 rating and must not cover or interfere with roadways or sidewalks. Decorations should be exterior only and must be visible from the curb. Participants must agree to have photos of their displays, and their addresses posted online. Entering is free.
Residents could snag a $100 gift card and be awarded a custom award!
The prizes will be awarded in four contest categories: Classic Halloween, Cute n’ Creepy (kid-friendly decorations), Spine Chilling and Haunting Light Show (drones, pixels, projection screens, matrices, moving heads).
The public will choose the winners by voting on our website Wednesday, Oct. 30 to Sunday, Nov. 3. The house with the most votes per category will win a $100 gift card and a custom award. All winners will be announced publicly on the City of Port St. Lucie’s website and social media accounts on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Additionally, winners will be congratulated and acknowledged at a future City Council meeting.

- Decorate your home and enter the contest. Registration is open Oct. 1-29. See official rules at www.CityofPSL.com/SpookyPSL.
- Take a Tour: When contestants register their homes, the City adds the homes to the PSL’s Spooktacular Halloween Tour Map. This searchable database will have pictures and addresses luring unsuspecting visitors to see the spooky display. When driving by the spooktacular homes, please be courteous. Remember the residential speed limit in Port St. Lucie neighborhoods is 25 mph.
- Cast your vote for the best display. Voting will open to the public during the judging window (Oct. 30 – Nov. 3).
